Fall Ball - Tuesday, November 23rd

FMS Student Council is sponsoring a 7th and 8th -grade Fall Ball on Tuesday, November 23rd, 2010. The dance will be held during school hours at 1:00 in the afternoon. This is a semi-formal event, and students are encouraged to dress nicely. (Please, no ripped or dirty clothing.) This is a fun way to kick off Thanksgiving Break! Bring your best moves...

Please note that any one of the following infractions may disqualify a student from attending:
*Phone contact with a parent regarding disruptive behavior
*Behavior or lack of participation in class
*Any failing grades
*RFP for 1 or more days
*Missing library books or library fines
*Office referrals

Upcoming dates to be aware of

Parent-Teacher conferences are on Thursday, Oct. 7 in the evening and Friday, Oct. 8 in the morning. All 7th grade teachers will be set up in the library for conferences. We look forward to seeing you there!

MAPS testing

7th grade will be MAPS testing this week (9/13-9/17). Please try to be in attendance during this week.

Welcome to 7th Grade!

Dear Parents and Guardians of 7th-Grade Students,
Welcome to a new school year! We are excited to get to know your students and to begin a new year of learning. Seventh grade brings with it a wealth of changes: students have classes predominately in the main building, and they are now eligible for sports and other extra-curricular activities. Seventh-graders are also allowed to attend school dances. For this and other reasons, this year promises to be filled with fun and excitement!
By now your student has received a planner. Please check this planner frequently, as your student will be writing his/her assignments in it. This is a great way for you to stay tuned-in to what we’re working on. Additionally, you can log on to the Parent Portal (click on the Parent Resources tab at www.re-2.org) to view all of your student’s assignments. If you haven’t already, please obtain a user name and password from the FMS office.

Upcoming dates to be aware of

Only 4 weeks to go! Some upcoming events that affect 7th grade:

May 3 - Library closes for checking out books
May 13 - Field trip to Cheyenne Mountain Zoo
May 17 - Student Council campaigns begin for next year's officers
May 20 - Field trip to bowling
May 21 - Student Council officer elections (AM); end of the year dance (PM)
May 27 - Last day of school

Progress Reports

Look for mid-quarter progress reports to have come home with your student on Friday 4/23 or Monday 4/26. These will be sent home for students with a D or lower in any class. Please be sure to sign and have your student return to their teacher. Thank you! The 7th grade team

7th grade field trip!

7th grade students will be bringing the following letter home today concerning our field trip in May. Please be sure to sign and return with your student by Friday, April 16. Thank you!

What do I have to do to go to the zoo???

Do
Get good grades, all As, Bs, and Cs.
Have good behavior.
Follow the dress code.
Leave your cell phone in your locker.

Don’t
Get bad grades, any Ds and Fs.
Have poor behavior:
· RFP
· 2 or more days lunch detention
· Referral to the office
Choose not to follow the dress code.
· More than 1 dress code violations
Have cell phone or other electronics in class.

Social Studies Test

Mr. Morton's Social Studies classes will be having a unit test over India and the Orient on Thursday, March 4. Don't forget to study!!

March 4 & 5 - Parent-Teacher Conferences - We look forward to seeing you all on Thursday night or Friday morning!

March 9 - March 17 - 7th grade CSAP testing - Please make sure your child is well rested and in attendance.

March 19 - Official end of 3rd Quarter. Teachers will have an earlier cut off date for grading so that grade reports may be prepared in time.

March 29-April 2 - Spring Break!!
